While the Indian education system concentrates on feeding students as much information, it rarely lets teachers draw out students’ inherent potential. A paradigm shift was required to allow learners to explore the world of knowledge independently. As a facilitator, a teacher’s job is to guide learners, help them extract solutions, be responsive and adaptable to changes in education and technology, and be innovative in the classroom. To meet and fulfil this vision and philosophy, a unique pedagogy is also needed.

Another factor for consideration is that children need to become equipped with 21st-century skills, including social and emotional skills. They need to be proficient in creative and critical thinking, analysis, reasoning, synthesis, data handling and applying their knowledge to solve practical problems. They need the best educational resources and the latest technological tools to enhance their learning and be liberated from the tyranny of rote memorisation of concepts. At the end of the schooling years, the education system must create confident and responsible individuals. To do so, the system needs to be given opportunities to implicitly build values in students’ minds to help them become an asset to society and a harbinger of progress.

The Millennium School’s curriculum was developed to facilitate progressive education and build awareness in parents on the need to provide such learning opportunities to their children. Over the years, it has evolved and is now replete with solutions for each and every aspect of a student’s academic life, including exhaustive age-appropriate content, tailor-made courses and comprehensive evaluation to provide personalised and thorough learning opportunities for them.
